Swim guiding and coaching in the South Lake District

Introduction to open water / wild swimming

Fancy trying something new and fun in a relaxed, calm and supportive environment?

This Introduction to Wild Swimming session is a great way to start your outdoor swimming journey.

Small groups which are ideal for getting to know each other and so that I can offer individual help and advice. A friendly and experienced guide will make it easy for you to get into the water safely and with the right equipment to start your watery journey. Safety is paramount in all my sessions.

We learn about kit, risk assessing, what happens to your body when we enter cold water, what to do in an emergency, how to keep kit clean and prevent contamination of our water and staying safe in open water.

These sessions are accessible for all though please do message me if you have any mobility needs to ensure I can put the right help in place.

You don’t have to swim front crawl or swim fast on these sessions. You can dip, float or swim breaststroke.

Various Venues available throughout the South Lakes. I tend to use Miller Ground or Fell Foot though if you have somewhere in mind please email me.

A kit list, address and other information will be sent once you have signed up. Please do email if you have any questions. You DO NOT have to wear a wetsuit and you don’t have to swim front crawl if you don’t want to. I don’t provide wetsuits as I feel your money is best spent on your own kit, you only need basic kit such as trainers and a swimming costume.

If you can’t find any suitable dates for you or your group send a quick email and I’ll organise something.

121 Sessions also available, please email for available dates.
